Lieutenant Colonel Alexis D. Fecteau

Lt Col Alexis D. Fecteau is Reserve Operations Officer, National Security Space Institute, Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Institute provides Space Professional Education and Advanced Space Training for the Department of Defense and trains Space Augmentees and Directors of Space Forces to deploy worldwide for combat and contingency operations. Comprised of over 115 active duty, reserve, contractor and government civilian personnel, the National Security Space Institute is the Air Corps Tactical School of Space preparing DoD warfighters for military space operations.

Colonel Fecteau was commissioned in 1984 through the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute ROTC program, and later completed a Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering through Boston University. He attended pilot training at Vance AFB, OK and initially flew OV-10A aircraft. Colonel Fecteau went on to fly F-15C aircraft at Bitburg AB, Germany and Langley AFB, VA, followed by an assignment to the United States Air Force Academy. He has been a flight lead, mission commander, NATO mission commander, instructor pilot, functional check flight pilot, standardization and evaluation flight examiner, and has commanded a flight and a squadron. Colonel Fecteau transferred to the Air Force Reserve at the Space Warfare Center in 1999 and is an original cadre member and key architect of the National Security Space Institute, its associated Reserve Unit, and the Reserve adjunct to the SECDEF directed Space Professional Program. Colonel Fecteau is a command pilot with more than 3,000 flying hours, with over 500 combat flying hours in the F-15C in Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Deny Flight, Vigilant Warrior and Southern Watch.
